PRACTITIONERS/TEACHERS

Young People today live in a hyper-connected society. Technology has changed the way children and young people interact and communicate with each other. The gap in communication between adults and young people is widening and many teachers and practitioners feel overwhelmed with the rapid pace of emerging technologies.

‘75% of young people claimed they could not live without the Internet’
(YouthNet.org, Life Support Report)

While many young people use the internet in positive ways, online and mobile misuse is on the increase and has become a real problem.

‘81% of UK teenagers have access to a Smartphone’

Increased access to technology has many benefits, but can also present challenges and concerns when working with young people. Negative usage can have devastating consequences for children and young people, confident with technology but not yet emotionally equipped to deal with negative experiences in a public environment.

Beat the CyberBully supports teachers and practitioners in narrowing the communications gap with Online Life-Skill Training and Awareness Sessions. Programmes cater for Primary, Post Primary, Secondary and Colleges and Universities. For information on programs click here. If you would like Beat the CyberBully to run a session for your schools’ or organisation’s staff or at a local event call 050 7198467 or email safe@beatthecyberbully.ae
